iCalamus offers very powerful shadow functions, which can be set
here.
Draw shadow
When you check this box, the shadow of the frame shape will be
drawn. This checkbox isn't initially activated in several frame types
(e.g. text frames) but can be changed at any time. Whether the frame
will be filled, or the frame outline will be drawn, depends on the
settings in the Frame shape and Frame outline sections of the
Frame inspector.
Blur Radius
Here you can define how far the shadow will be drawn and how it
will blur towards its border. Thus you get really realistic shadow
effects.
Opacity
The defined shadow doesn't have to start with 100% opacity. You
can define stepless opacity or transparency here.
Offsets and Angle
Here you can define whether the shadow will start right against
the object, or with an offset. If the offset is too large, the shadow
may look unrealistic, so should be used with caution. You may even
rotate the shadow for strange effects.
Mirror and Shear
iCalamus offers many options to set up shadow mirrorings. You
can mirror a shadow horizontally and/or vertically, and add left or
right shearing. In text frames you can even start these effects at
each single line.
Tip: A shadow doesn't have to be
black or gray. Feel free to assign other colors to a shadow (in the
Color inspector).
